Munro Jewellery Design
Munro Jewellery Design began in 1987 with coconut shells, wire-wrapping and beadwork. Tracy, of Munro Jewellery Design, began her jewellery venture as a self-taught designer. Later, she worked with a goldsmith and learned the techniques of metal-smithing. As styles changed Tracy changed her designs and medium to sterling silver and semi-precious gemstones and pearls. She uses fresh-water pearls of all shapes and sizes as well as biwa pearls from Japan.
Munro Jewellery Design’s other line is semi-precious gemstones that come in a variety of different and unusual stones. Some of her designs are a simple bezel set style that shows off the beauty of the stone as well as many versions of beaded designs which are very popular right now.
The metals she currently works with are 925 sterling silver, pewter and 18kt gold-fill. Tracy uses handmade Balinese silver beads and Swarovski crystal in all of her designs to enhance the pearls or gemstones. She make earrings, pendants, necklaces, bracelets and brooches. Celebrities that have purchased her jewellery are: Canadian singer Sarah McLachlan and the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthony Kiedis.
The first 20 customers to make a purchase at the Munro Jewellery Design booth on Saturday, December 17, 2016 will each receive $5 in City Market Bucks towards their next vendor purchase at the market on Saturday.
