Erdmann’s Gardens & Greenhouses

Rony Erdmann, along with his wife, Wendy and sons, Shane and Cody own and operate Erdmann’s Gardens & Greenhouses. The farm is located in the south east corner of Westlock County where they produce fresh, field grown vegetables and spring bedding plants. 2018 will be their 36th year in business.

Winners of the 2009 Growth Alberta Business of the Year Award and also Business Excellence Award, this family takes growing safe, healthy, great tasting food very seriously. In 2017, they were awarded the Alberta Farm Fresh Producers Association Farm Direct Marketer of the Year.

Erdmann’s first started attending the old City Market when it was located on 97th street. There they learned the ins and outs of Farm Direct Marketing while offering farm fresh produce and bedding plants to the diverse customer group that attended the city’s original Farmers Market. After leaving the City Market for several years, they returned in the fall of 2012 when the market moved into City Hall. The addition of a new on farm storage facility and certification in the Canada GAP On Farm Food Safety Program translates into this farm, along with the rest of the Downtown City Market vendors, being able to continue serving the needs of patrons of City Market Downtown.
