Celebrate Canada Day with The City Market, Circus Montreal & Kiwi Comedy June 30th

Aytahn Ross Circus Montreal

We love Canada Day! It’s always a great day at the City Market, and this year we have two special guests performing — Aytahn Ross of Circus Montreal and Kim Potter from Kiwi Comedy — AND for the first time ever, we’ll be doing a Market Wide Scavenger Hunt! It’s only from 9:00 until noon and the best prizes go to the first 50 who complete the hunt!! Get your clues here!

It’s going to be a day packed full of fun!

What started out as a hobby for Aytahn Ross has become his livelihood. As a child, Aytahn loved to play with toys, juggle and balance objects, and create unusual hat tricks. Having fun and helping others have fun is what he loves to do most. Aytahn grew up in Winnipeg and later moved to Montreal where the arts and performing are a big part of life. He found a supportive audience while he  pursued his hobby, but he soon realized this was more his passion. Now, 20 years later, Aytahn has entertained over one million people and has performed in 14 countries, including Quebec (he jokes), Singapore, Asia, and Russia, and even the Canada Day celebrations on Parliament Hill. He brings his act to Edmonton for the Street Performers Festival, and will be performing two shows at the City Market Downtown at 11 and 1 on June 30th as part of our Canada Day celebration.

Kim Potter comes to us all the way from New Zealand, and has been performing for nearly 20 years. Kim is a wonderfully dynamic entertainer with a high energy, super interactive show — slapstick, street circus and stand up comedy all in one! He’s performed in Europe, Asia, the USA, Canada and of course his native New Zealand.

We are so excited to welcome Aytahn and Kim to the market to celebrate Canada Day with us. Wear red and white, and come be Canadian at the City Market Downtown! And prepare to have the best day ever!
